Dr. Curtis Dugas
Periodontist & Implant Surgeon
Board certified in periodontics, ICOI diplomate, trained at Pittsburgh, the Misch Institute and the Pikos Institute. Former Captain and Chief of Periodontics in the US Air Force.
Winter Garden, Florida
A board-certified periodontist, a prosthodontist and a dentist anesthesiologist practise together here — so the implant, the crown that goes on it and the sedation that gets you through both are planned by one team, in one building, on one day.
Why people put it off
Most people who need an implant, a crown or a deep cleaning already know they need it. What stops them is the arithmetic of it — a referral to a surgeon across town, a second opinion, a third appointment for the crown, and somewhere in the middle, an hour in a chair they have been avoiding since childhood.
So we removed the arithmetic. The surgeon, the restorative specialist and the anesthesiologist all work here. You are diagnosed once, planned once, and sedated by someone whose only job that day is you.

The Smile Studio
These are real Sapphire Dental Studio patients. Brighten the teeth to preview whitening, then reveal the actual clinical result underneath.

What we do
From a routine cleaning to a full-arch reconstruction — without ever being sent somewhere else for the hard part.
01
Placed by a board-certified periodontist and restored by a prosthodontist in the same building. Bone grafting, gum grafts and full-arch fixed hybrids included.
02
Veneers, bonding, whitening, gum contouring and a smile trial you can wear before anything permanent is done.
03
Prosthodontics is its own specialty and Dr. Chung trained in it for three extra years. Fixed hybrids, partials, full dentures and full-mouth rehabilitation.
04
Gum disease is the reason most adults lose teeth. Treated here by a periodontist rather than referred out — scaling and root planing, grafts, crown lengthening.
05
Nitrous through to full IV sedation, delivered by a dentist anesthesiologist whose only job during your appointment is your comfort and safety.
06
Airway and joint problems are dental problems. Custom oral appliance therapy for diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea, plus TMJ treatment and night guards.

How it goes
The plan is written once, by the people who will carry it out.
A full exam with digital X-rays and, where implants or airway are involved, a 3D CBCT scan. We look at gums, bone, bite and airway — not just the tooth that hurts.
Both specialists review your case together and you leave with a sequenced plan and one written figure. Financing and membership savings are applied before you decide.
Awake, lightly relaxed with nitrous, or fully sedated with Dr. Walbom monitoring you throughout. Weighted blanket, headphones and your own screen are standard, not extras.
Maintenance is where the investment is protected. Membership members get their cleanings, screenings and X-rays built in, on a schedule set by what your gums actually need.
Your comfort, our priority
Dental anxiety is not a character flaw and it does not respond to being told to relax. It responds to control, quiet, and a specialist whose only job is to keep you comfortable.
Who treats you
Between them: a periodontal board certification, a prosthodontic residency, an anesthesiology residency and two ICOI diplomates.

Questions people actually ask
Three board-certified specialists practise in one building: a periodontist who places implants, a prosthodontist who restores them, and a dentist anesthesiologist who handles sedation. In most towns those are three separate referrals, three consultations and three treatment plans. Here the plan is written once, by the people who will carry it out.
Yes. Dr. Michael Walbom is a dentist anesthesiologist, so sedation from nitrous oxide through to full IV sedation is delivered and monitored by a dedicated specialist whose only responsibility during your appointment is your comfort and safety — not by the dentist performing the treatment.
Cost depends on how many teeth are being replaced and whether bone grafting is needed, so an honest number requires a CBCT scan and an exam. After that you receive one written figure. CareCredit and Cherry financing spread it monthly, and membership plan members receive 15% off.
We file with most PPO plans as a courtesy. If you have no insurance, the in-house membership plans start at $550 a year and include cleanings, exams, all diagnostic X-rays, oral cancer and sleep apnea screening, plus 15% off everything else — with no deductibles, no waiting periods and no claims to submit.
It is a full arch of teeth anchored to four to six dental implants and fixed in place, so it is never removed for cleaning and does not move when you eat or speak. Dr. Dugas places the implants and Dr. Chung designs and fits the prosthesis — both in this building.
Yes. We screen every patient for airway and sleep concerns, and treat diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea with custom oral appliance therapy — an alternative for people who cannot tolerate CPAP. Dr. Dugas is pursuing board certification in dental sleep medicine.
